Harvard Researcher: About Half of New Gun Owners are Women

The survey findings won’t come as a surprise to those who have been paying attention...

In a blow to the tired stereotypes perpetuated by gun control supporters, a recent academic survey found broad diversity among recent first time gun buyers. The findings bolstered what many observers had anecdotally discovered, the last year-and-a-half’s pandemic and civil unrest-fueled record-breaking gun sales.

Provided with the preliminary survey results, the Wall Street Journal reported,

the 2021 National Firearms Survey, designed by Deborah Azrael of the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health and Matthew Miller of Northeastern University, show an estimated 3.5 million women became new gun owners from January 2019 through April of this year. About 4 million men became new gun owners over that period, they found.

Therefore, the study suggests that 46.6% of new gun owners since January 2019 were women.

NRA instructor trains thousands of inner city women 'to ensure they’re never victims'

An NRA instructor described as "the Left’s worst nightmare" helped train thousands of minority women from Detroit on how to safely protect themselves with guns "to ensure they’re never victims."

"The left thinks the Second Amendment wasn’t made for people who look like us. They said the same thing during the Jim Crow era too," NRA instructor Rick Ector, who is black, said in a video published by the NRA on Thursday morning.

VCDL Sues Gun-Ban Group for Libelous Accusation

For the Virginia Citizens Defense League (VCDL), the answer is no longer, as the organization is suing the anti-gun Coalition To Stop Gun Violence (CSGV) for libel after the CSGV labeled the pro-freedom group a “domestic terror organization” in a press release.

When a new round of laws goes into effect on Sept. 1, Texas will officially become a "Second Amendment sanctuary." That's one piece of a GOP-led effort to limit firearm restrictions and expand gun access in the state.

While permitless carry was the highest profile gun bill to cross Gov. Greg Abbott's desk during the 2021 legislative session, more than a dozen others received his signature.

Most loosen or limit firearm restrictions, like new laws allowing school marshals and hotel guests to carry guns. One law bans government contracts with companies that "discriminate against the firearm or ammunition industries," while another effectively designates gun stores as essential businesses that can’t be shut down during a disaster.

Biden Reiterates Call to Ban 9mm Handguns

During a July 21 CNN “presidential town hall,” Joe Biden expressed his support for a ban on commonly-owned handguns. Responding to a question about the recent increase in violent crime, the career politician stated ,

I'm the only guy that ever got passed legislation, when I was a senator, to make sure we eliminated assault weapons. The idea you need a weapon that can have the ability to fire 20, 30, 40, 50, 120 shots from that weapon, whether -- whether it's a 9-millimeter pistol or whether it's a rifle, is ridiculous. I'm continuing to push to eliminate the sale of those things.

Of course, any semi-automatic firearm capable of accepting a detachable magazine has the “ability to fire” in the manner Biden deemed objectionable. Therefore, the seasoned grandstander’s statement was a call to ban all semi-automatic handguns, rifles, and shotguns capable of accepting a detachable magazine.
